Soon after graduating from the University of Peradeniya, Dr Laknath joined the Faculty of Veterinary Science as a Research Assistant to the Wildlife Human Health Net project by the International Development Research Centre – Canada, and Sri Lanka Wildlife Health Centre. Having completed his internship at the government veterinary hospital in Gatambe and government veterinary surgeon’s office in Weligama, he joined PetVet in 2014 and continues to practice at the clinic on a part-time basis. Dr Laknath has also completed his CCHRM qualification at the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) in Colombo and is a member of the Society of Companion Animal Practitioners of Sri Lanka. His special interests in veterinary medicine are surgery, diagnostic imaging and clinical pharmacology.
Dr Laknath has two loving pets, Casey Boy and Brown.
