Dr Nawarathne joined PetVet in 2017, soon after graduating from the University of Peradeniya. Having completed her internship in farm animal medicine and elephant medicine, she plans to pursue a specialisation in small animal clinical medicine. Dr Nawarathne continues to upgrade her education, following courses in veterinary oncology, neonatal management, cardiopulmonary medicine and emergency medicine among others.

Dr Nawarathne is passionate about all animals, be they pets, farm animals or wildlife. She has a pet cat named Murka.
