Dr Ranasinghe worked as a part-time small animal clinician at PetVet since 2006 before joining full-time in 2017. She has previously worked as a temporary lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, Peredeniya; as a research officer at the Veterinary Research Institute in Peradeniya on poultry vaccine production, disease diagnostics and research; as a lecturer and clinician at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Studies of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; and a lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Sabaragamuwa. Dr Ranasinghe’s main interests in veterinary medicine are dermatology, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging and cytology.

Dr Ranasinghe has 4 dogs named Franky, Riny, Cirus, and Fugin.
